How To install Ubuntu

Step 1>>>

Download latest version of Ubuntu

There are many sites where you can start downloading the latest version of Ubuntu(14.04 LTS) But I suggest you to visit the official page where everything is simple and free.

Got to http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop and click on Get Ubuntu Now

Then choose your favored bit version(64bit or 32bit) and hit download.

Step 2>>>

Making a bootable device

After downloading the .iso file, you now have to boot the image file to a disk or flash drive.
Easiest way is to put the image to a flash drive and make a bootable device.

1. Download Linux Live USB creater here http://www.linuxliveusb.com/
2. Install  Linux Live USB creater and start making the booting device

3. Next choose the USB flash drive from Choose a USB Key
4. Then locate your downloaded .iso file from Choose a Source
5. Next click on the lightning icon to start the process

Here We go... the bootable device is ready now...!!!

Step 3 >>>

Installation Process

Next Choose Something else in Installation Type window

Then select the relevant partition that you want to install Ubuntu into. If you don't have a ext4 partition u need to make a one by deleting a existing empty partition or use a free space if available. In my case I already have a ext4 partition and I'm deleting and remaking the partition for you guys to understand.

Remember to make the file system of the partition into Ext4 and
mount point to / icon as shown below.

Next you should create a swap partition (actually a virtual RAM like space) use a free space you already have or create a new partition by deleting a empty partition you have already created. make the Use as: to Swap area and mount point as it is don't change anything else.

Now you have a root partition and a swap area partition. Now its good to go. Check whether those two partitions are selected and then hit Install now.

In the installation process you will be asked to set the region, keyboard layout, timing and other stuff. Just simply configure them and proceed. After the installation it'll automatically restart the PC. And here we go....!!!

Enjoy your new Linux environment with Ubuntu...!!! :) :) :)
